Philippines Travel Requirements 2026: Visa-Free Entry & eTravel Guide for US, UK, EU, Australian & Korean Tourists

By

Good news if you’re planning a Philippine holiday from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany (or elsewhere in the EU), Australia, or South Korea: you do not need a visa for short tourist visits. Here’s exactly what you need to prepare before you fly.

Do You Need a Visa to Visit the Philippines?

No — passport holders from the US, UK, EU countries (including Germany), Australia, and South Korea can all enter the Philippines visa-free for up to 30 days as tourists, under Executive Order 408. This applies equally across all five — there’s no difference in visa-free days between these nationalities.

You’ll need:

  • A passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure from the Philippines
  • A return or onward flight ticket (this is sometimes checked at check-in or on arrival)
  • A completed eTravel registration (see below)

What Is eTravel? (And Yes, It’s Mandatory)

Every foreign traveler entering or leaving the Philippines must complete the eTravel declaration — the Philippines’ official digital arrival/departure card. It replaced the old paper health and customs forms.

  • Official site: etravel.gov.ph (also available via the eGovPH app)
  • When to complete it: within 72 hours before your arrival (or departure)
  • Cost: it’s free — the official site explicitly warns that some third-party websites charge a fee for what is a free government service. Only use etravel.gov.ph.
  • Who’s exempt: diplomats, holders of 9(e) visas, and official/service passport holders — everyone else, including all leisure tourists, must complete it

We recommend filling this out 1-2 days before your flight so you have your QR code confirmation ready to show at immigration.

Staying Longer Than 30 Days?

If your trip runs past the initial 30 days, you can apply for a visa extension at the Bureau of Immigration (main office in Manila or select regional/satellite offices) before your current stay expires. Extension fees and exact processing details are set by the Bureau of Immigration and can change, so please check current fees directly at immigration.gov.ph or your nearest BI office rather than relying on figures from other travel blogs.

Quick Pre-Departure Checklist

  • Passport valid 6+ months beyond your Philippine departure date
  • Return or onward flight ticket booked
  • eTravel form completed at etravel.gov.ph within 72 hours of arrival
  • Screenshot or printout of your eTravel QR code confirmation
  • Travel insurance (recommended, not required)

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a visa if I’m just visiting for a week or two? No. If your total stay is 30 days or less, no visa is needed for US, UK, EU, Australian, or South Korean passport holders — just the eTravel registration.

Is eTravel the same as a visa? No. eTravel is a free digital arrival/departure declaration, not a visa. It’s required in addition to (not instead of) the visa-free entry rules above.

What if I forget to complete eTravel before my flight? You may be able to complete it on arrival, but delays are possible — completing it 1-2 days ahead is strongly recommended.

Can I extend my stay if I fall in love with the Philippines? Yes — visa extensions are available at the Bureau of Immigration before your 30-day stay expires. Start the process a few days early to avoid overstaying penalties.
